Zhanjiang opens passenger train route to Shantou

Passengers between Zhanjiang and Shantou in Guangdong province have been connected more closely by the opening of a new train route between the two cities on May 15.
The train, K1590, or K1591 for the return, sets off from Zhanjiang and passes through 16 stops including some major cities in the province, such as Foshan, Guangzhou, Chaozhou and Dongguan, marking a transport milestone for east and west Guangdong, finally terminating at Shantou.
Equipped with air conditioning, the train is comprised of 13 carriages with one for dining, one for luggage, five for hard seats, five for hard berths and one for soft berths. The train can carry a total of 1,310 passengers.
Starting from 10:10 pm from Zhanjiang, the train is expected to arrive at Shantou at 5:30 pm the next day. Its return journey sets out from Shantou at 8:51 pm before finally reaching Zhanjiang at 5:10 pm the following day.
Some of the other train stops include Suixi, Lianjiang, Huazhou, Maoming, Maoming East Railway Station, Zhaoqing, Huizhou, Heyuan, Longchuan, Xingning and Jieyang.
