The Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Fujian province, will promote its tourism at the upcoming 12th Strait Travel Fair to be held in Xiamen from May 4 to 8, people.cn reported on April 27.

A pavilion of 270 square meters and 30 booths will be set up for Pingtan at the venue. The pavilion will display the zone's unique tourism resources, featuring stone folk dwellings, sand beaches, sea-erosion landforms, shield dancing and many others during the five-day fair.

Also, the zone will introduce its tourism planning, for example, creating ecological marine environment, developing marine culture, promoting water sports like sailing, and becoming an international tourist destination.

It will also put on various excellent performances, including dancing and indoor cycling, to show the zone's strengths to more people.

Following last year's theme of "integration, development and win-win cooperation", this year's Strait Travel Fair will focus on rural tourism, cultural creation, and maritime Silk Road and will cover eight major events.
