Su Junliang from Taipei in Taiwan obtained the first entry permit to the Chinese mainland made and issued by the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone on July 10.

The Fujian Provincial Public Security Bureau has granted Pingtan county more exit and entry administration rights. Pingtan's public security bureau is now able to examine and approve personal applications to go abroad, foreigner visa extensions and reissuance applications, and residence permits in China.

"It took at least three weeks to get the entry permit before. Now it takes less than a week. It's more efficient and convenient," said Su.

Since July 1, the bureau has received 1,243 entry-exit applications and has issued 55 permits.
