Authorities in Pingtan have ordered a large-scale security crackdown on the tourism sector, sources from Pingtan's local tourism bureau said on Monday, in East China's Fujian.

The campaign, which lasts from June 10 to Sept 20, aims to eradicate safety risks and enhance safety measures in the industry.

All tourism spots, star hotels and travel agencies are subject to the security check, said the bureau.
