The Pingtan leg of the Kiteboard Tour Asia will last from May 8 to 13. It will be the second straight year that Pingtan, located in East China's Fujian province, will host the event.

More than 100 contestants from over 20 countries will compete during the five-day event, said the local technology, culture and sports department on Monday.

The KTA was formed to create an international platform for the skills and talents of kiteboarders throughout Asia, and to bring professional level competition and training to the region.

Pingtan joined the tour last September and successfully held the event.

The registration process for this year will close one week before the event, or when the 120-rider quota is met. Find more information here:
