Some XiamenAir personnel visited the island of Pingtan, which is also a county of Fujian province, on Feb 28, to look at the possibilities of doing business there.

Gong Qinggai, Pingtan's chief administrator, welcomed the guests on behalf of the entire county and encouraged the airline to set up business there, describing the island as a place that is ripe with possibilities for opening up to Taiwan, especially in its ecology and environment, industrial development, and various industrial resources.

Che Shanglun, the chairman of the board of XiamenAir, said that Pingtan's rapid development and unique proximity to Taiwan are certainly attractive to the company and that it would like to use the county's preferential policies and resources to develop projects in the logistics and tourism sectors.
