The song Common Homeland written by Pingtan musician Lin Ailin was performed on CCTV3, China Central Television's arts channel, on Sept 27.

The song's lyrics extol the rapport between Pingtan and Taiwan. "We share the same customs, feelings and hopes; we speak the same dialects, and we are bound by blood."

Lin was excited watching famous Chinese singer Lv Wei perform his work on television.

"I am thrilled, although it is not the first time CCTV has broadcast my work," he said. His song Leaf Boat was performed on CCTV several years ago.

Lin has been devoted to original music about Pingtan over the past years. It is his love for his homeland that inspires him to continuously write music.
