Xizi Rock is located at the southern foot of Zhuowang Mountain in Jinjing town and was widely known as the "Grand Buddha Temple". The temple features the stone carvings of Avalokitesvara, Buddha and Mahasthamaprapta, the largest of which is 4.5 meters tall and 1.62 meters wide. The date when it was first built remains unknown and the present temple was restored twice in 1935 and 1982 with donations from an overseas Chinese family. This May, the cliff carvings of Xizi Rock were listed for protection by the State Bureau of Cultural Relics.
