Fuzhou plans to provide free skill training to migrant workers
Updated: 2010-07-08

Fuzhou plans to provide free skill training to 2,000 migrant workers and offer a free business course to 300 children in registered economically challenged families by the end of the year, an official from the Fuzhou Federation of Trade Unions (FFTU) told reporters yesterday.

The 2000 migrant workers, according to the requirements, are those who have signed contracts with the employers, and the training program aims to provide free on-the-job training and help them acquire certificates for elementary skills. The other 300 people, on the other side, will be given courses about the basis of business start-ups and granted loans and favorable policies in terms of taxation. In addition, FFTU plans to improve the comprehensive capabilities of 10,000 workers.
