Dr. Sven Grimm is Senior Researcher at the German Development Institute (DIE) and Extraordinary Associate Professor of Stellenbosch University, South Africa. He previously was Director of the Centre for Chinese Studies at Stellenbosch University between 2010 and 2014. Sven Grimm is founder and editor-in-chief of the Journal African East-Asian Affairs, published in South Africa. His current research interests include the economic and political effects of so-called Rising Powers (China, India, Brazil, South Africa) specifically on the African continent and in global debates. Furthermore, he works on the role and modes of interaction of academic policy advice in international development.
