Cancellation of permanent residence status

The Ministry of Public Security may cancel the permanent residence status of a foreigner in the case of a foreigner with permanent residence status in China under any of the following circumstances:

(1) Being likely to threaten the national security and interests of China;

(2) Being expelled from China;

(3) Having obtained the permanent residence status in China by submitting false materials or by other illegal means; and

(4) Not meeting the prescribed time limit for residence in China; and

(5) Other circumstances that a foreigner is not suitable to permanently reside in China.
