Boyan Lake in Hefei, capital of Anhui province, is to be developed into a wetland park, Xin'an Evening News reported on July 12.
Located to the southwest of Dashu Mountain, the lake has functioned mainly as a reservoir. However, the local government launched a tender for its expansion into a wetland park a couple of days ago, as part of its efforts to turn the lake into one of the hi-tech district's signature attractions, the newspaper said, citing the Hefei Bidding Center.
Recreation facilities will also be built in the park. The entire project is estimated to cost 5.5 million yuan ($900,000), according to the center.
