Updated: 2009-11-17 10:40 Third Month Flowers Street Fair of Zhuang People in Guangnan, Wenshan Date: May 8, 2009 (14th of the fourth month by lunar calendar) Venue: Guangnan County Town, Wenshan Prefecture Zhuang Flowers Street Fair is the extension of the traditional Third Month Flowers Street Fair as well as the traditional trade festival of paddy-farming ethnic groups and festival of “alliance of tribe leaders”; it is the festival of Zhuang “Binongdian” for friends and relatives exchanging their visits and the traditional Zhuang “Valentine’s Day”; it is also a grand “spring singing” festival in Zhuangs’ hometown. During the festival, over ten thousands of well dressed people will gather at Guangnan, with thousands of young lads and maidens singing antiphonally for expressing their ove; in addition, unique local ethnic traditional culture show of bronze drum dance will also be held. |
