Originally, the purpose of “Jumping Flower” was to offer sacrifice for Chiyou, the ancestor of Miaos; now the activities cover flower pole worship ceremony, climbing flower pole, Lusheng songs and dances, bullfight and Chinese martial art performance. The Miao lads and maidens sing love songs antiphonally with colorful flower umbrellas in hand, that’s extraordinarily lively. |
