More than 100 gift items related to the Spring Festival, Peking Opera, scenic spots in Beijing, and art and tourism were rolled out on Nov 30, under the brand Beijing Gift, which is certified by the municipal government’s tourism bureau.

Themed on the city, the items include mascots, shoes, silk scarfs and high-tech sound boxes. Beijing tourism officials expect the annual sales of the gifts to hit 50 million yuan ($7.3 million) in future.

So far, more than 2,000 items have been certified and there are roughly 30 physical stores that sell them in Beijing.
