4. Station master Tama

Tama was appointed as the station master at Kishi Station in Japan's Wakayama prefecture. To date, he is the only cat station master in all railway stations in Japan. His shift starts at 9am and ends at 4pm. Tama is reportedly very punctual, though he spends most of his working hours napping. His presence alone flipped the financial situation 180 degrees, bringing about 1.1 billion yen ($1.08 million) worth of income to Kishi Station after experiencing a deficit for many years. Tama was honored with the title of "Permanent Station Master" after he died in 2015.
