The opening ceremony of the 2012 Friendship Communication of Ambassadors and Madams on Knowing Chinese Culture - Longevity Culture was held on Sept 20 in Beijing.

The ceremony featured a traditional Chinese dance performance and puppet shows, and was jointly organized by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the government of Rugao city, Jiangsu province.

Rugao, widely known as China's "Longevity City" and "World Longevity City", is an outstanding representation of Chinese longevity culture. Compared with other longevity cities, Rugao is one of the few that has a relatively advanced economy.

In the ceremony, ambassadors and madams joint in the puppet shows, and they are going to visit Rugao in late October to know more about Chinese longevity culture.
