Finnish rock band Apocalyptica was formed in 1993 and comprises four classically trained cellists who graduated from the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, plus a drummer. Their music borrows elements from classical music, metal, grunge, hard rock and so on. The band's music album has sold 4 million copies, and is sometimes compared to a "collaboration of Shostakovich and Metallica".
