Managers said the deck of a bridge completed nine months ago in Bengbu, Anhui province, is peeling off, due to scorching heat this summer, People’s Daily reported.

Managers said technicians found indelible wheel tracks on the bridge deck in August, but the damage to the pavement was minor and posed little threat to the safety of the bridge structure, a chief manager of the bridge said.

Maintenance was completed two weeks ago to keep the tracks from icing in winter, the manager said.
