Action hero Harrison Ford and actress girlfriend Calista Flockhart have managed a rare feat in Hollywood - a long term relationship - and now they are finally engaged.

After five years together, Ford asked for the former Ally McBeal star's hand in marriage on April Fool's Day, according to a report in Grazia magazine.

Newly engaged couple Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford head to the park with son Liam on April 15.

Flockhart, who is more than 20 years younger than Ford, apparently took some convincing that it wasn't a joke, but is said to be thrilled at the prospect of a wedding.

Clearly twice-divorced Ford has finally warmed to the idea of marriage again, after a huge ￡100 million divorce settlement with ex-wife Melissa Mathison.
