'Superman Returns' star Brandon Routh is now engaged to his actress girlfriend Courtney Ford.

According to People magazine, the actor's representative confirmed the news and said: "They are very happy."

The couple, who plan to marry next autumn, have been dating for the past three years. They are due to star opposite each other in the upcoming movie 'Denial'.

Speaking with PEOPLE in June, Routh called Ford, 28, his personal kryptonite. "She brings me to my knees," he said.
