China to construct Beijing-Shanghai rail on its own

Construction technology of China's Beijing-Shanghai express railway will entirely rely on independent research and development, based on assimilating advanced technologies, Chinese Minister of Railways Liu Zhijun said in Beijing Wednesday.

Liu made the remark at an Anhui Provincial panel meeting of deputies to the National People's Congress. Liu was specially invited to attend the meeting.

He said the project plan is under feasibility study, according to a report of China News Service.
