Wife sues husband for not paying medical bills

An ill woman has won a lawsuit against her callous husband who was reluctant to pay her medical bills, reports Chutian Jinbao Newspaper.

Yang, a native of Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province, often had disputes with Zhang after they got married in 2001.

Last April, Yang suddenly turned ill and was hospitalized; but Zhang only paid 600 yuan (US$70) for her medical expenses and Yang had to leave the hospital although she had not recovered.

The court late last week ordered Zhang to take his wife back to hospital and pay another 6,000 yuan (US$730) for her medical costs.
