Herdsmen set up makeshift camps on a snow-covered meadow in Fuyun county of
Altay in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Friday
January 6, 2006.Heavy snowfall hit most parts of the region with a drastic
temperature drop since December 29 last year, causing the evacuation of
97,000 people and leaving herdsmen and their livestock stranded.
