Rabbit with a gray and white face after transplant

| Chinese researchers are
operating on a gray rabbit to transplant half the face of a white rabbit
to it at a plastic surgery institute in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi
Province, December 9, 2005. The rabbit with a gray and white face was
shown fourteen days after the operation at the institute on December 23,
2005. The operated gray rabbit is currently in normal health condition,
able to open and close its eyes freely. It is the first successful
face-transplant operation reported in China. [Newsphoto]
