By Wendy Zhang (Shanghai Daily)
Updated: 2004-06-20 10:10

The Shanghai Customs has checked and accepted 155 batches of Hong Kong-made goods worth of nearly US$15 million under the Chinese mainland/Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) in the first five months of the year, with a total 8.15 million yuan worth of tariffs exempted, the Jiefang Daily reported on June 18.

As of the beginning of the month, Shanghai Customs launched a monitoring program, supervising, searching and calculating the imported goods from Hong Kong, with efficiency and accuracy largely improved.
