School kids hurt in chlorine leak incident
School children are treated in a hospital in Yanguoxia, Northwest China's Gansu Province, after a accidental chlorine gas leak at a chemical planton on Monday. Eighteen students involved were hospitalized. Three students were slightly poisoned and remained in hospital for medical observation. The others have returned home. The accident happened when two workers of the chemical plant opened a gas valve in violation of rules during an annual facility check-up. The chemical plant's chlorine bottling centre was ordered to stop operating. An investigation is under way. [newsphoto] |
