Best place for No 1 railway station

Guangzhou plans to invest 410 million yuan (US$49.4 million) to build Asia's
largest railway station in Shibi in the Panyu District, reports Information
Times.
The expert panel studying four plans for the city's new railway station
pronounced it the best option in terms of location and cost, said Professor Du
Wen, chair of the panel.
A railway station in Shibi would be near Guangzhou's urban area and
convenient for travellers from Foshan, Zhuhai and Zhongshan.
And the relative scarcity of existing buildings in Shibi mean minimal
relocation would be required, Du said.
The new railway station would become the terminal of the Beijing-Guangzhou
route upon completion.
