The Shanghai Meteorological Bureau has begun operating an English-language weather information line, Shanghai Morning Post reports.

Foreign residents and visitors to the city may dial "969 222" to receive daily weather reports as well as forecasts for the coming three to five days.

The hotline, said to be the first of its kind on the mainland, was launched on Sunday.
