The 6th China Beijing International Art Biennale opened its doors on Sept 24 at the National Art Museum of China. It is themed "Memory and Dreams". The thematic exhibition features 685 pieces of art from 96 countries. The exhibition includes contemporary art paintings, sculptures, and explores the art of new media. About 500 artworks are contributed by foreign artists.

This year, Canada, South Africa, Chile and three other countries present their artists through six special contemporary art exhibitions to showcase cultural diversity.

The event is jointly hosted by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Beijing Municipal People's Government and China Artists Association.

It runs through Oct 15.
