Wang Baoan, born in Xuzhou city, Jiangsu province in 1964. He graduated from the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in 1986 with a major in Chinese painting. He is now a professor and supervisor of postgraduates at the Chinese Painting Department of the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts. He is also a member of the China Artists Association, the Shaanxi branch of the Chinese Painting Research Institute and a researcher at the Shaanxi Cultural and History Museum.
He was named one of the top 10 artists in fine arts by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles in Shaanxi in 1996.
His works have won awards in many national competitions and been featured in both national and international media.
