"If you call a woman here 'Third Sister', you are showing respect," said a tour guide at the Liu Sanjie scenic spot in Yizhou. "Most of them can perform impromptu singing relying on instant inspiration.”

"Liu Sanjie" has become a cultural brand and a key part of Yizhou's push for tourism, according to Zhou Fei, Party secretary of Yizhou.

"As of October, Yizhou has received 2.9 million tourists in 2016, up 18 percent from the previous year, and consumption in terms of tourism has reached 3.6 billion yuan, 28 percent over last year,"Zhou said.
