Famous for its exquisite textile, pottery, clay sculpture, and engraving, Dege county of Southwest China's Sichuan province is known as one of China's hometown of folk arts and handicrafts.

Traditional Tibetan handicrafts are kept alive in this region that some have been lost in transmission elsewhere.

Under the support of local governments, more than 30 craft teaching training courses like Thangka painting, wood sculpture and pottery opened in Dege county to pass on the traditional skills.
