The Anderson's Magic Land theme park opened at the China Millennium Monument in Beijing on June 23, 2016. The winner of the Hans Christian Andersen Award, children’s writer Cao Wenxuan, attended the opening ceremony and gave a speech during the literary salon.

The park is divided into five areas, each pegged to one of five Anderson fairy tales, including The Emperor's New Clothes, The Little Match Girl, The Little Mermaid, The Steadfast Tin Soldier and Thumbelina. Each area provides high-tech interactive games for children to be immersed in the world of the beloved Danish author’s stories.
