The chorus of the Chinese People's Liberation Army will perform nine revolutionary songs with the Military Band at the victory parade in Beijing on Sept 3, 2015.

To deliver a perfect performance, members of both the 1,200-voice chorus and the band have gone through strenuous training.

It is reported that the chorus is selected from 7,000 candidates with an average age of 21. Although they may not have received professional musical training they demonstrate great qualities.

In addition, female band members will take part for the first time at a military parade.

Several songs have been confirmed to be performed before and after the flag-raising ceremony, including Ode to the Motherland, Defend the Yellow River, Song of the Guerillas, On the Taihang Mountain, and March of the Volunteers.
