Japan: a bridegroom has to go through "torture"

In ancient times, if a beautiful woman in rural Japan married a man from outside her village, men from the village would feel unhappy and "tortured" the bridegroom at the wedding. They would throw him down a mountain slope in revenge. Nowadays, in some rural areas the bridegroom still has to undergo all kinds of "torture" at the wedding. The more beautiful the bride is, the more suffering the bridegroom will have.
