The expenses of the performance are shared among the villagers. The opera troupe makes note of the donors in a notebook, which will then be made public on the day of "Hua Deng" (a local holiday usually celebrated after the end of the traditional two-week Chinese New Year festivities). Any remaining money after performance expenses have been paidis used to buy food and wine for a village feast. |
