Lender puts pressure on both sides; Merkel ally says leaders in Athens are 'clowns'

The International Monetary Fund has lost patience with both sides in the Greek debt talks.

The crisis lender has publicly laid out its demands to Greece in the long-running fight over bailout funding over the past few days, but has also done the same with the Europeans, showing a new frustration with their hard line.
