THE APPEAL COURT has upheld the decision against Lin Senhao from Fudan University, who received the death sentence last year for murdering his roommate with poison in April 2013. Comments:

The court has already issued its final verdict on the case, which has aroused social concern for almost two years. However, our thinking about it should continue. It is a violation of the social bottom line that someone could kill his roommate just out of envy. A process of rebuilding our common values must start, so that such extreme events will not be repeated.
