China has expressed its "strong dissatisfaction" to India following New Delhi's decision to host the Dalai Lama in a disputed border region.

"We firmly oppose the Dalai Lama's visit to the region," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang during a news briefing.

The Dalai Lama has been visiting the disputed eastern section of the China-India border, despite the fact that China has voiced its grave concerns.
