A couple hid in a Shanghai IKEA store to live broadcast their late night adventure last Saturday. IKEA security discovered them and called the police.

The police said that the couple may be detained for several days.

On Friday, the man announced his plans on Weibo, saying he would invite a beautiful lady to hide in an IKEA for the night.

They arrived at IKEA hid in a closet and live broadcasted the darkness. Later in the evening, a security guard discovered them and called the police.

Police officers came at soon after and started a trial. Police officers noticed there was another man with the couple. The three said they wanted to experience the childhood feeling of hiding in a closet and meant no harm.

The live broadcaster apologized on Weibo Sunday morning.

Live broadcasting is an increasing trend in China. In order to attract audiences, broadcasters always try their best, and unfortunately at times do illegal activities.

Chinese authorities published a regulation on live streaming one month ago, ordering providers and releasers to obtain qualifications and act according to the rules.

It banned the use of live streams to undermine national security, destabilize society, disturb social order, infringe upon others' rights and interests, or disseminate obscene content.
