The National Stadium, dubbed "Bird's Nest", is illuminated in preparation for the New Year's Eve, Dec 27, 2014. The New Year countdown of 2015 in Beijing will be held at the Olympic Park along with two other venues, Yanqing district in the capital and Chongli county of Zhangjiakou city, Hebei province.
