BEIJING?- The China Charity Federation (CCF) has raised 42.8 billion yuan ($6.96 billion) in donations of money and goods in the past two decades, the organization said Tuesday.

The federation has carried out more than 60 charity projects in areas including disaster relief, medical care, education and poverty relief, benefiting more than 10 million people.

Chairman of the CCF Li Bengong said the organization has established a national charity network and played an increasingly important role.

Red Cross society has to bear its cross

Founded in 1994, the CCF is a non-profit public welfare institution with 355 member units nationwide.
