The Guizhou provincial government imposed a smoking ban on Thursday.
According to a government statement on Thursday, it will set up no-smoking spots in public areas.
The statement required leaders to take a leading role in the anti-smoking campaign. Local government employees are required to obey the regulation barring smoking in certain public areas.
Government employees are also not allowed to use government expenses for tobacco consumption.
