Historical agreement

On April 28, 2011, former premier Wen Jiabao and the Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak reached consensus to build the park.

During the 8th China-ASEAN Expo, Wen and Najib witnessed the signing of the project and unveiled it on Oct 21, 2011.

On March 26, 2012, the State Council of China approved the construction of the park.

On April 1, 2012, Wen and Najib both attended the official launching ceremony and laid the foundation stone.

On Feb 5, 2013, Jia Qinglin, then chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Prime Minister Najib attended the opening ceremony of Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park, a "twin park" to the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park.

The "Two Countries, Twin Parks" model is unprecedented in terms of international cooperation in China.
