Local governments attracted investment during the 17th China International Fair for Investment and Trade, held in Xiamen, Fujian province, from Sunday to Wednesday but the focus was more on the green and high-tech sectors.

Sheng Yongjun, mayor of Tongxiang, a city in Zhejiang province, invited investors to back its tourism industry that will be pivotal sector in the city's future growth.

Traditional industries in the city are textile, clothing, leather and construction materials.

But the city is also home to emerging industries including IT, new and specialized materials, vehicles and new energy.

Officials from Lishui, in the same province, invited investors to put their money into the city's high-tech park.
