Procuratorate fights graft through smartphone app

By An Baijie | chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2013-08-15 17:47

A procuratorate in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality has developed an anti-graft application that can be installed on smartphones.

The app, named "preventing duty crime", includes rules and regulations on anti-corruption, previous corruption cases and a telephone number for users to report cases of corruption.

"It's illegal for government officials to take bribes through their mistresses," reads one of the rules on the app, which is available in the app store free for users to download.

The app was developed by the No 1 branch of the Chongqing People's Procuratorate, which could not be reached for comment on Thursday.
