15 rescued, 1 missing after Guangxi boat capsizes

NANNING - Fifteen tourists were rescued and one remains missing after a boat capsized at a scenic spot in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, local tourism authorities said.

Rescuers are searching a 64-year-old man from Taiwan who went missing?on Saturday after the boat with 16 tourists aboard capsized in the Guanyan scenic area in Guilin, said the Guangxi Tourism Administration.

The rapid currents and improper operation of boatmen caused the capsizal, the administration said.

The tourists were organized by a local travel agency in Guilin.

Tourism authorities in Guilin have ordered scenic spots which were hit by heavy rains recently to halt hosting tourists.
