Guo Jianhua, a deputy to the National People's Congress (NPC) from Central China's Henan province, wants the government at various levels to help more farmers to get access to educational films.

Guo, a projectionist who has presented movies for farmers in Henan for more than 30 years, said more and more farmers strongly request to see educational films, particularly films about farming skills, because, with advances in technology, they fully understand the importance of grasping scientific farming methods.

"Such a film can be shown about 8,000 times in a single village in Henan, reflecting the huge demand for those kinds of movies," Guo said. "We should help farmers to get access to more of these kind of cultural activities."
