Mother kills son as revenge for in-law's sneering

A woman was sentenced to 11 years in prison for maltreating her son and causing his death on May 16.

Surnamed Fang, the 29-year-old woman tortured her 2-year-old son for six days. She kept him standing for four hours, tied his feet with gummed tape and beat him with a cane. The boy was afraid to get beaten again and put up with his pain without crying. He died from internal bleeding after he collapsed and knocked his head on the ground four times.

Fang said she tortured her son because she felt she was taking revenge on her mother-in-law for sneering at her.
